We are excited to announce the availability of state of the art 3D scanning of the eye.
OCT stands for Optical Coherence Tomography.
Unlike a retinal photograph that only shows the appearance of the retinal surface, the OCT allows us to see a complete three-dimensional cross section of the eye including the retina. This allows each layer to be examined in detail that has not been possible before.
Changes to the structure of the retina can be spotted very early by an OCT scan. This is useful for the diagnosis and monitoring of
- Glaucoma
- Diabetic Retinopathy
- Age Related Macula Degeneration (AMD)
- Central Serous Retinopathy
