OCT scans provide our optometrists with the opportunity to examine the layers beneath your retina, allowing for a more detailed assessment of your eye health. We advise patients aged 25 and above, as well as those with a family history of eye conditions, to have an OCT scan to establish baseline measurements of their individual eye structure and regular monitoring. This enables our optometrists to detect various eye conditions much earlier than was achievable with traditional methods, facilitating more precise referrals to secondary care.
